Civil War Re-Enactment
Each year on the 4th Saturday in September, the City of Winfield hosts Mule Day festivities. A recent addition has been a Civil War Re-enactment at Ivan K. Hill Park. Re-enactors from across the southeast act out the fictional "Skirmish at Luxapalilla" on Mule Day Saturday and again on Mule Day Sunday. On Saturday morning, the public is invited to tour the Civil War camp and visit with the actors. On Saturday night, a Civil War Ball is held with period dress and music abundant, although period dress is not required to attend. For information, contact Randy Brown at 205-487-6492.
